Our Paraflex® WS heat seal waxes are used as a heat sealable high gloss paper coating (one or two sided) for the packaging of bread, sweets and chewing gum. As well as for production of heat sealable laminates (by coating paper on two sided and laminating the web of the second substrate to it).
The differences between the various grades relate to the properties required in the wax coating and also the machinery employed. The main performance criteria for heat sealable gloss waxes are:
- appropriate sealing characteristics;
- low moisture vapour transmission rate (MVTR);
- anti blocking;
- low scuff;
- good running properties on packaging machines.
