The majority of the Paramelt sites are manually run industrial processes which need to be automated and upgraded to the latest standards and technology. The increasingly important relationship between OT/IT and good line control lies at the heart of the automation department.
We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, develop and contribute to the overall business need & strategy to automate and digitize our processes.

The Automation and Engineering department is a key and integral part of the future sustainability of Paramelt, and therefore you will be joining a team that is going to make a difference for the well-being of the company.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Automation Engineer who has a grasp of Process Automation System (PAS) software as well as the hardware. System communication protocols and networking would be a great advantage to the applicant. In addition, we are also looking for someone who has some background or knowledge in low voltage electrical design (associated with PAS installations).
The Automation Engineer will be required to work on small and capital projects as well as the day-to-day maintenance/optimization tasks.
As part of this job, you have to work with Operations to understand details of how the process currently runs, then develop and implement the appropriate process automation solutions for the chemical processes involved.
The Automation Engineer will be required to:
- Generate Concept & Basic Engineering Packages for automation projects;
- Perform basic PLC software modifications (logic and HMI modifications);
- Provides technical support and analysis for the resolution of deviations, investigations, and process issues in both automation and low voltage electrical issues;
- Testing of software modifications together with our Automation/system Integrator partners;
- Execute automation projects within a full project cycle (including detail design review, FAT, commissioning, loop checks, plant start-up, etc.);
- Be part of the greater engineering team, that will be building and expanding Paramelt sites world wide.
The engineer will be required to be assertive and be able to work under guidance as well as independently.
The Automation Engineer will be part of the Automation and Engineering team looking into both Paramelt NL sites as well as our sites in the USA.
In this position you report to the Global Automation and Engineering Manager.
For this challenging position, we are looking for strong candidates with at least 2 years relevant experience in industrial Process Automation Systems and engineering.
You have a hands-on mentality and well-developed analytical skills. You are pragmatic, enterprising, creative and strong in planning and executing work in various projects/tasks.
You are interested in planning for the future of the company using automation to achieve efficiencies and most importantly, safety.
You are preferably educated to Bachelor’s degree level in Electronics/Electrical/Process Automation/Chemical Engineering or have demonstrable experience operating at this level.
You have excellent communication skills and a good command of the Dutch and English language.
