Position Summary

Performs a variety of tasks in the manufacturing department. Tasks can be involved in the blending of raw materials, transfer of bulk liquid, operation of manufacturing equipment and systems, and packaging of finished product.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs chemical blending operations and accurately documents all actions completed in the process
  • Understands the operation of various valves and pump systems and safely operates pumps to transfer wax to and from mixing tanks
  • Operates production equipment and packaging lines to produce finished goods according to specifications
  • Operates manual and automatic systems to collect in process batch data and produce finished goods
  • Has a basic knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFD’s) and makes adjustments to control production processes accurately and safely
  • Ability to follow work instructions and complete batch records in accordance with good manufacturing practices (GMP’s)
  • Assist with the training of general laborers and new production operators
  • Adheres to all established company and corporate policies, procedures, and governmental regulations pertaining to plant safety, environmental issues, and quality standards
  • Operates and performs routine maintenance on various manufacturing machinery
  • Performs housekeeping during and at the end of each shift for assigned areas
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

  • Ability to accurately utilize units of measure: time, temperature, and weight
  • Basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals) and reasoning skills
  • Determination and assertiveness to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Able to perform physical aspects of manufacturing duties such as using hand tools, occasional lifting, bending, climbing, or crawling
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift
  • Able to routinely handle 50 lb. bags of raw materials
