Research and
development

Innovation is fundamental to Paramelt’s success and the R&D department lies at the heart of this. Paramelt aims to supply more than just a good product. We select the right product to fit the customers' process requirements, and adapt it where necessary. We provide technical support to ensure good product performance and optimization of the customer process.

In order to provide this added value Paramelt has a large, state-of-the-art, research & development department encompassing a number of different disciplines: material science, physical & chemical processing and analytical science.

The breadth of application requirements we service, calls upon a huge variety of primarily organic materials, each with their own unique and distinguished property characteristics. Our technologists develop a deep understanding of these materials and their interactions to deliver the required functionality and processing characteristics to meet our challenging customer demands.

Often the material properties themselves are insufficient to deliver against all requirements and further physical & chemical processing are required to achieve the full application requirements. This includes blends and dispersions or (chemical) process development such as synthesis, purification and fractionation.

Analytical characterisation & quality control is critical both to understand and ensure delivery of an effective product. As a result, our analytical laboratories are equipped to perform a wide selection of analytical techniques such as GC-MS, HPLC, FTIR, DSC, rheology, etcetera. Newly developed products are tested for their suitability for use in the customers' application before being released to the market.

To support both the ongoing performance of existing products as well as the introduction of new product solutions, our development and technical service people are clearly the key to success, combining detailed knowledge with inventiveness and creativity.

Finance

The finance department is at the heart of Paramelt’s business activities and pivotal to the company's financial success. Our role is to make sure that critical decisions are made with a view to adding value to the company and supporting our ongoing growth, whilst maintaining financial stability.

To ensure coherent and optimal processes, we work in close cooperation with the regional sites, functional departments and operating business teams. We underpin our activities with the use and development of modern integrated systems together with business analytics tools, to provide the necessary information for objective decision making.

In addition to accounting & controlling responsibilities, the Finance organisation also handles all aspects of taxation, insurance & legal matters. This broad portfolio of responsibilities offers significant potential for diversity and development of roles within the department.

The international character of our company brings exciting additional challenges such as the management of local accounting & tax policies, different legal frameworks, transfer pricing and so on. The broad range of functional and regional diversity offered within Paramelt provide for an exciting and varied work environment.

Human resources

It is clear that the success of Paramelt depends on all the people who work here. In this context the HR department plays a key role in the selecting, supporting and developing our people.

As a flat and very flexible organisation, our first concern is to ensure that all our employees fit well and enjoy working within our company culture. In a functional context, it is important to confirm that all our colleagues possess the right knowledge and skillset appropriate to the job. In a dynamic and changing environment we also need to identify and source appropriate ongoing training and development support.
